all-wheel
Four corners powered
All-wheel describes a drivetrain system that powers all four wheels of a vehicle simultaneously, as opposed to front-wheel or rear-wheel drive.
The term appears most often in all-wheel drive, abbreviated AWD, which has become a standard feature on many SUVs and crossovers marketed for improved traction in rain, snow, or off-road conditions.
Unlike four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive typically operates automatically without driver intervention.
