actualisation

Bringing to fruition

Actualisation is the British spelling of actualization—the process of making something real or bringing potential into existence.

The term appears most often in psychology, particularly in self-actualisation, Abraham Maslow's concept of fulfilling one's capabilities and becoming the best version of oneself.

More broadly, actualisation can describe any movement from possibility to reality: the actualisation of a long-held dream.
