accordion-fold
Fan-style paper creasing
Accordion-fold describes a method of folding paper or other material into alternating panels that stack together like the bellows of an accordion.
Each fold reverses direction from the previous one, creating a zigzag pattern when viewed from the side.
The technique appears in brochures, maps, and decorative crafts.
As a verb, to accordion-fold something is to create these alternating creases: Accordion-fold the paper into six equal sections.
