absorbability
Capacity for uptake
Absorbability is the capacity of a substance to be absorbed, whether by a material, a body, or a system.
The term appears most often in technical contexts: nutritionists discuss the absorbability of vitamins and minerals from food, while engineers might evaluate the absorbability of water by different soil types.
The iron in spinach has lower absorbability than the iron in red meat.
