repellency

Quality of repelling

Repellency is the quality or capacity of driving something away or resisting its approach.

The term appears most often in technical contexts describing how materials or surfaces resist penetration by water, insects, or other unwanted substances: The fabric's water repellency degrades after repeated washing.

It can also describe a more general quality of being off-putting or causing aversion, though repulsiveness is more common in that sense.
