abandoned town
Empty former community
An abandoned town is a settlement where all or nearly all residents have left, leaving buildings and infrastructure to decay.
Towns become abandoned through economic collapse, natural disasters, environmental contamination, or resource depletion—mining towns emptied when the ore ran out, villages evacuated after nuclear accidents.

Such places are sometimes called ghost towns.
