Zipcar

Urban vehicle sharing

Zipcar is a car-sharing service that lets members rent vehicles by the hour or day, typically through a smartphone app.

Cars are parked in designated spots around cities; members unlock them with a card or phone: I grabbed a Zipcar to run errands.

The model appeals to urban residents who need occasional car access without ownership costs.
