YMCAs

Nonprofit fitness centers

YMCAs is the plural of YMCA, which stands for Young Men's Christian Association, a nonprofit organization founded in the mid-19th century to promote physical fitness, community programs, and youth development.

Despite the name, modern YMCAs serve people of all ages and genders.

The term often refers specifically to the facilities themselves—gyms, pools, and community centers—rather than the broader organization.

There are three YMCAs within driving distance of my house.
