Wolfram
German for tungsten
Wolfram is a German word for tungsten, the dense metallic element.
The name persists in the element's chemical symbol W and in wolframite, its primary ore.
Wolfram is also the given name of Stephen Wolfram, creator of Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha, a computational knowledge engine: I asked Wolfram Alpha to calculate the distance to Mars.
