Wham!
Wham! was a British pop duo consisting of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, active from 1981 to 1986.
Known for exuberant hits like "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" and "Careless Whisper," the group defined a certain strain of mid-eighties pop optimism before Michael launched his solo career. (Lowercase wham is an exclamation or impact sound.)
