W-4 form
Withholding allowance certificate
A W-4 form is a U.S. tax document that employees complete when starting a job, telling their employer how much federal income tax to withhold from each paycheck.
The withholding amount depends on filing status, dependents, and other factors.
Employees can submit a new W-4 anytime their tax situation changes: I need to update my W-4 after getting married.
