1099 form
Independent contractor paperwork
A 1099 form is a U.S. tax document reporting income paid to someone who isn't a regular employee—freelancers, independent contractors, or recipients of interest, dividends, or other payments.
The payer sends copies to both the recipient and the IRS.
Various types exist: 1099-MISC for miscellaneous income, 1099-INT for interest, 1099-DIV for dividends.
I got a 1099 from every client I freelanced for last year.
