Tyrannosaurus Rex is a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived in North America during the late Cretaceous period, roughly 68 million years ago.
Often shortened to T.
Rex, it has become the iconic prehistoric predator in popular imagination—the dinosaur children learn first, the one that terrorizes theme parks in movies.
Its name means "tyrant lizard king."
