Turtle Bay
East Side enclave
Turtle Bay is a neighborhood on the east side of Midtown Manhattan, home to the United Nations headquarters.
The name evokes both the area's diplomatic significance and its quieter residential character compared to surrounding commercial districts: She lives in a brownstone in Turtle Bay.
The neighborhood takes its name from a former cove of the East River, long since filled in.
