Servicemember health coverage
Tricare is the health care program serving United States military personnel, retirees, and their dependents.
Administered by the Department of Defense, it provides coverage through several plan options ranging from managed care to fee-for-service arrangements.
My family switched to Tricare Prime when we moved near the base.
The program replaced the earlier CHAMPUS system in the 1990s and covers millions of beneficiaries worldwide.
