Thermidor
Post-Terror calendar period
Thermidor has two connected meanings.
It was the eleventh month of the French Revolutionary calendar (mid-July to mid-August), named for heat.
The Thermidorian Reaction of 1794 ended the Reign of Terror, so thermidor now describes any conservative backlash against revolutionary excess.
Separately, lobster Thermidor is a rich French dish of lobster meat in cream sauce, served in the shell.
