The Kinks

Lola's performing group

The Kinks were a British rock band formed in 1964, led by brothers Ray and Dave Davies.

Known for hits like "You Really Got Me" and "Lola," the band pioneered distorted guitar sounds that influenced punk and hard rock.

Their later work explored satirical, distinctly English themes of class and nostalgia: The Kinks were one of the great British Invasion bands.
