Tefal

French cookware company

Tefal is a French cookware brand best known for introducing non-stick coating to consumer pots and pans in the 1950s.

The name combines "Teflon" (the coating material) with "aluminium." In casual speech, people sometimes use Tefal generically to refer to non-stick cookware regardless of brand: I need a new Tefal for making eggs.

The brand is owned by Groupe SEB and sells kitchen appliances worldwide.
