TAs
Professors' graduate helpers
TAs is the plural of TA, short for teaching assistant—a graduate student or advanced undergraduate who helps a professor run a course by leading discussion sections, grading papers, or holding office hours.
The TAs handled all the grading for the intro course.
In British usage, TA can also mean Territorial Army.
