Prepaid return mailer
SASE stands for self-addressed stamped envelope—an envelope you address to yourself and affix postage to, then include with correspondence so the recipient can reply without expense or effort.
Once standard practice when submitting manuscripts to publishers or requesting information by mail: Please include a SASE for our response.
The term has faded with email but persists in some formal contexts.
