Rome-Berlin Axis
WWII fascist pact
The Rome-Berlin Axis was a 1936 alliance between Fascist Italy under Mussolini and Nazi Germany under Hitler, forming the core of what became the Axis powers in World War II.
The name comes from Mussolini's declaration that Europe would revolve around the Rome-Berlin line as an axis.
Japan joined later that year, creating the principal alliance opposing the Allied powers.
