Roman chariot
Colosseum racing vehicle
A Roman chariot was a two-wheeled vehicle drawn by horses, used in ancient Rome for warfare, racing, and ceremonial processions.
Racing chariots were light and fast, designed for the Circus Maximus; war chariots carried soldiers into battle.
The chariot became an enduring symbol of Roman military power and spectacle: a bronze statue of a Roman chariot, scenes of Roman chariot races in film epics.
