Rh negative
Universal donor type
Rh negative describes blood that lacks the Rh factor, a protein on the surface of red blood cells.
About 15% of people are Rh negative.
The designation matters most in pregnancy—an Rh negative mother carrying an Rh positive baby can develop antibodies that attack the fetus's blood cells in subsequent pregnancies.
She's O negative, so she can donate to anyone.
