Portuguese tart
Lisbon custard cup
A Portuguese tart is a small custard pastry with a flaky crust and caramelized top, originally from Lisbon where it's called pastel de nata.
The filling is rich egg custard, often dusted with cinnamon or powdered sugar.
Portuguese tarts have become popular worldwide in bakeries and cafés: I grabbed a Portuguese tart with my coffee.
