Oompa Loompas

Orange-skinned singers

Oompa Loompas are the small, orange-skinned factory workers in Roald Dahl's *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory* and its film adaptations.

They sing moralizing songs after each misbehaving child meets their fate.

The term sometimes describes short workers or people who've overdone artificial tanning: She came back from vacation looking like an Oompa Loompa.
