Quentin Blake
Quentin Blake is a British illustrator and author best known for his collaborations with Roald Dahl, providing the distinctive scratchy pen-and-ink drawings for *Matilda*, *The BFG*, *The Witches*, and other beloved children's books.
His loose, energetic style—all spindly limbs and wild hair—became inseparable from Dahl's characters.
Blake has also illustrated works by other authors and created his own picture books.
He was the first Children's Laureate of the United Kingdom.
