National Lampoon's Vacation
Family road comedy
National Lampoon's Vacation is a 1983 American comedy film about a family's disastrous cross-country road trip to a theme park.
The movie spawned several sequels and established the template for family-vacation-gone-wrong comedies.
The title is often invoked when travel plans spiral into chaos: Our trip to the beach turned into a National Lampoon's Vacation.
