Eat Pray Love

Self-discovery travel memoir

Eat Pray Love is a 2006 memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert chronicling her year of travel through Italy, India, and Indonesia after divorce—eating in Rome, meditating in an ashram, finding love in Bali.

The title has become shorthand for a certain type of privileged self-discovery journey, often used with gentle mockery: She quit her job and went full Eat Pray Love.
