Moonie
Mass wedding participant
A Moonie is a member of the Unification Church, a religious movement founded by Korean leader Sun Myung Moon in the 1950s.
The term is often used disparagingly, suggesting cult-like devotion or brainwashing: Her parents hired a deprogrammer after she became a Moonie.
Church members consider the term offensive and prefer "Unificationist."
