Modern Orthodox
Observant yet engaged
Modern Orthodox refers to a branch of Orthodox Judaism that maintains strict observance of Jewish law (halakha) while embracing engagement with secular society, higher education, and contemporary culture.
Unlike ultra-Orthodox communities that minimize contact with the non-Jewish world, Modern Orthodox Jews typically pursue professional careers, attend secular universities, and participate in mainstream civic life while keeping Sabbath, dietary laws, and daily prayer.
