Mizzou is an informal name for the University of Missouri, the flagship campus in Columbia.
The nickname derives from a phonetic spelling of the state abbreviation: Are you going to the Mizzou game this weekend?
The university's athletic teams compete as the Missouri Tigers, but fans and students typically say Mizzou.
