McGonagall
McGonagall refers to William McGonagall (1825–1902), a Scottish poet widely regarded as one of the worst poets in the English language.
His verses are notorious for their awkward meter, forced rhymes, and unintentional humor: It's so bad it sounds like McGonagall wrote it.
The name has become shorthand for spectacularly incompetent poetry.
J.K.
Rowling borrowed the surname for Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter series.
