Kevin McCarthy
Former House Speaker
Kevin McCarthy is an American politician who served as Speaker of the U.S.
House of Representatives in 2023, holding the position for only nine months before becoming the first Speaker removed by a vote of his own chamber.
A California Republican, McCarthy spent years pursuing the speakership, winning it only after fifteen ballots.
His name now evokes political instability and the fracturing of traditional party leadership.
