Jack Sprat

No-fat fellow

Jack Sprat is a figure from a nursery rhyme who "could eat no fat" while his wife "could eat no lean"—together they "licked the platter clean." The name sometimes describes a thin person, or more broadly, a couple whose opposite traits complement each other: They're a real Jack Sprat situation—she handles the finances, he handles the social calendar.
