Irish session
Traditional jam gathering
An Irish session is an informal gathering where musicians play traditional Irish music, typically in a pub.
Unlike a concert, sessions are participatory—musicians sit in a circle, take turns leading tunes, and join in on ones they know.
The repertoire centers on jigs, reels, and other dance tunes played on fiddles, flutes, tin whistles, and similar instruments.
There's a session at the pub every Thursday night.
