Giants Causeway
Irish coastal formation
Giant's Causeway is a geological formation on the coast of Northern Ireland, consisting of roughly 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity.
The hexagonal pillars, some reaching 40 feet tall, create a dramatic stepping-stone effect into the sea.
Legend attributes the structure to the giant Finn McCool, who built it to walk to Scotland.
