Ghoulies

Small demonic creatures

Ghoulies are small, mischievous supernatural creatures—diminutive ghouls or demons.

The word gained currency from the 1980s horror-comedy film series featuring puppet-like monsters.

It often appears in the playful rhyme ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties, invoked around Halloween or when mock-warning children about things that go bump in the night.
