Three-strand weaving technique
A French braid is a hairstyle in which three sections of hair are woven together from the crown of the head, with additional hair incorporated into each section as the braid progresses toward the nape.
The technique creates a braid that lies flat against the scalp.
As a verb, to French-braid is to create this style: She French-braided her daughter's hair for the recital.
