Ferris wheels
Revolving observation circles
Ferris wheels is the plural of Ferris wheel, an amusement ride consisting of a large upright rotating wheel with passenger cars suspended from its rim.
Named after George Ferris, who designed one for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.
The ride offers elevated views and has become iconic at carnivals and fairgrounds: We rode the Ferris wheel at sunset.
