Evel Knievel

Evel Knievel was an American motorcycle daredevil famous for death-defying stunts in the 1960s and 70s—jumping buses, fountains, and canyons on his bike.

His red-white-and-blue leather suit and spectacular crashes made him a cultural icon.

The name now evokes reckless showmanship: He went full Evel Knievel on that ski slope.
