Edward Albee
Edward Albee was an American playwright known for works that dissect American family life and social pretension with dark humor and psychological intensity. *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?* (1962) remains his most celebrated play, depicting a bitter, alcohol-fueled evening between two couples.
Albee won three Pulitzer Prizes for Drama and helped define American theater in the latter twentieth century.
