EM
Typographic width unit
Em is a unit of measurement in typography, originally the width of a capital M in a given typeface.
It scales with font size—in 12-point type, an em is 12 points.
An em dash (—) is a punctuation mark one em wide, used to set off parenthetical elements or mark breaks in thought: The answer—if there is one—won't come easily.
An em space is a typographic space of the same width.
