Dutch auction
Price drops until sold
A Dutch auction is an auction in which the price starts high and drops until someone accepts it—the reverse of traditional bidding.
The term also applies to stock offerings where shares are allocated starting with the highest bidders and working down until all shares are sold.
The Treasury uses a Dutch auction to sell bonds.
