Cypress Hill
Latino hip-hop pioneers
Cypress Hill is an American hip-hop group from Los Angeles, formed in 1988 and known for Latin-influenced beats, nasal vocal delivery, and lyrics celebrating marijuana use.
They were among the first Latino hip-hop acts to achieve mainstream success: Cypress Hill's "Insane in the Brain" was everywhere in the early nineties.
