Chinese drama
Eastern television series
Chinese drama refers to television series produced in China, Taiwan, or other Chinese-speaking regions, typically featuring serialized storytelling with historical, romantic, or fantasy themes.
These dramas often run 40-50 episodes and have gained international audiences through streaming platforms: I've been binge-watching Chinese dramas all weekend.
The term distinguishes them from Korean dramas (K-dramas) and Japanese dramas (J-dramas) in discussions of Asian television.
