Cannery Row
Monterey fishing street
Cannery Row is a street in Monterey, California, once lined with sardine-canning factories.
The name is best known from John Steinbeck's 1945 novel set there, depicting the lives of drifters, prostitutes, and eccentrics during the Depression era.
The area is now a tourist destination: We walked along Cannery Row looking at the shops and aquarium.
