CITES regulations

Species trade rules

CITES regulations are the rules governing international trade in endangered species under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

The treaty restricts or bans cross-border commerce in plants, animals, and their products to prevent extinction from overexploitation: ivory imports are banned under CITES regulations, the shipment required CITES documentation.
