turtle rescue
Helping stranded chelonians
Turtle rescue refers to the organized effort to save injured, sick, or displaced turtles and return them to their natural habitat.
Organizations devoted to this work rehabilitate turtles harmed by boats, fishing gear, pollution, or habitat loss: The turtle rescue center treats dozens of sea turtles each year.
The term also describes individual acts of helping turtles cross roads or escape hazards.
