Brut

Very dry bubbly

Brut describes champagne or sparkling wine that is very dry—containing little or no added sugar.

It sits near the dry end of the sweetness scale, drier than extra dry (confusingly) but not as bone-dry as brut nature.

She prefers brut champagne to the sweeter varieties.

The term comes from French, where it means raw or unrefined.
