Boys Town
Flanagan's youth sanctuary
Boys Town is a nonprofit organization and residential community for at-risk youth, originally founded as a home for orphaned and neglected boys in Nebraska in 1917.
The name evokes care for troubled young people and has become shorthand for youth welfare programs generally.
The 1938 film *Boys Town* starring Spencer Tracy popularized the institution and its motto: "There are no bad boys."
